Seems like I am the only one here tonight.

They stole 2 points, but points are points. That 2 on 0 Stamkos and Drouin, Ramo made a great save. Glad Kucherov came back, we don't need anymore injuries. Palat coming back from last nights stupidity. Finally nice to see Garrison's bomb used in a practical manner and Drouin's pass was nice.

Mike do you think like I do that all the line shifting of the forwards due to injury has kind of affected the team these last two games, yes they are not playing great hockey but it seems like the lines are not jelled together and causing the offense to sputter.

It took going down a goal for them to stop playing pass and firing the puck on Ramo. But like I said in the other post I think its a case of new linemates due to injuries and them trying to jell together.

Honestly... No.

Maybe that causes is a minor setback, but it doesn't cause what we saw over the course of the last two nights.

I was at the game- just got home. Some observations:

Calgary
Love what that team is building. Hard working group with some great young talent. Giordano has guts and skill- Monahan is a great young gun and I love that Gaudreau kid. Another couple years and this is going to be a heck of a club.

Also, Ramo! Wow. Has he ever matured as a 'keeper'.

The Bolts

Where to begin...

1)Carle: Retire plz. I thought he was awful on TV, but seeing him live this season is atrocious. He makes all sorts of behind-the-play positioning mistakes that aren't as noticeable until you can glare at his awful play live.

2) Forwards: I know Cally and Killer are missing, and I know they bring the grit to our top-six but I had no idea they had that level of impact on our playstyle. Even Stammer looked passive without them.

3)Gudas: He wasn't there and it was really noticeable. Throw the two aforementioned forwards being injured, and you can see how much sandpaper this club is lacking without the trio.

4)Nabokov: We haven't had a back-up this reliable since..... uh.... you know what? We've, plain and simple, never had a back-up who is this reliable. Great game by Nabby.

5) Drouin/Connolly: Okay game from bother tonight. Not great, but nothing to be angry over.

As a whole, the Bolts have some issues right now. The injuries are pretty daunting and the team looks drained on the ice. Also, Blunden sucks. Paquette should have been the call-up (or is he injured or something?)

Somebody call the meat wagon : bring out your dead....

Hedman, Callahan, Killorn, Gudas, and Kucherov (almost)

Our depth is being tested. Good thing we have Brewer now.

Nabokov >>> Lindback.

Drouin/Stamkos is coming. Prepare.

Hoping to see the Beard back in action soon.

Brewer actually looked pretty decent from my vantage point. Nothing flashy, just steady.

True they have looked real bad, the line shifting has caused some issues but your probably right there is a bigger issue going on right now. I hope on Friday they come out firing the puck on net, play with speed and get opportunities. This game was weird in they had tons of offensive zone time but hardly a shot to show for it.

I am with you on this one for sure. Cooper even talked about it in his postgame how they are missing the big bodies and guys were tentative to go to net but they did in the third period finally. I thought both Drouin and Connolly played good games, both had scoring chances and were threats on the ice.

I'm slowly warming to Connolly (finally). As for Drouin... he has a lot of potential but, lets not kid ourselves, he needs a ton of work. Not a Calder winner, but definitely a decent top-6 forward with top-line standout caliber potential.

Despite the fervor of piling on loving this team in the preseason from..oh...everyone.... we're not there yet. Not even close. We will in all likelihood make the playoffs this year, but we are NOT contending this season.

As bad as it was, let's not forget that this is a three-game sample size we're looking at. I want to see what the team can do when it's totally healthy, something it hasn't been at any point so far this year. Contending? Maybe not. Better than last year? I think it can be.

For sure .. A team with the likes of stamkos and hedman and bishop alone should be good ... Never mind the surrounding cast

Missing Killorn, Callahan, Hedman, Gudas, playing on a backside of a back to back and playing in front of a backup goaltender whom they are not familiar with yet (remember The confidence they had in there last backup?). take the two points, be happy and don't flog the hell out of the team.

SHOOT THE PUCK
Good things happen when you shoot like the two goals last night, deflections, rebounds, screens, flukey goals. Put Stammer back at centre, they might have chemisty but Stammer draws D to the center and his speed opens up opportunities. Put Connolly on his wing for the corner play. Leave Filppula as 2C.b

Agreed, would have been great for his confidence. Critics can say all they want, Drouin is a stud.

Bold statement of the day: in 2 years time, I will take a stamkos/drouin combination over a Crosby/anyone combination in just about every stat category.

I would take a seguin/kessel combination over a lot of combinations.

Bullpoop.

1) They played even WORSE in Edmonton the night before.
2) Nabby has nothing to prove. He's known- and that kind of over-psychoanalysis seems ridiculously suspect.
3) They're professional athletes and a team with depth and talent up and down- find ways.
4) Stammer has zero excuse.

How would those two have ever ended up on the same team?

1) Your point?
2) Every goaltender has his own tendencies that the team needs to learn to play, so defensemen will know what a goalie will do in certain situation. It takes time to learn that.
3) They found a way, didn't they?
4) Why does he need an excuse? Is he supposed to score EVERY game??

Seguin and Benn are going to be Leafs, just like everyone else in the NHL. I thought that was just a given.
